You know what you want, but you don’t know the steps to getting it.
It is easy to think you know what you want. But ask yourself if you’re achieving your goals and creating the results you want every time.
If not, you may want to examine the steps you are taking to achieve success.
Here are 4 steps to getting what you want:
- Clearly define what you want.
- Think about how having what you want would make you feel. Feel the desire intensely. How bad do you want it?
- Think about it often.
- Remove resistance and all doubt.
Clearly define what you want.
Define your goal with as much detail as possible. You MUST be specific. If you want money, you need to write out exactly what you are going to do with every penny.
If you want to move, you must write out everything you want in your new house, from the location, to the colors, the yard, the style, the layout, the appliances, and more. Include what you will do in this home.
Think about what you will FEEL when you have what you want.
You must create intensity of emotion around whatever it is you desire and think about it often.
Think about your goal often.
Spend time daily focusing on your goal. The best time to think about it is as soon as you wake up in the morning and just before going to bed at night. You should be focusing your energy and attention all day on taking the next logical step to reaching your goals.
Don’t get hung up on ALL of the steps to obtaining your goal because that often leads to feeling overwhelmed and frozen in fear and then doing nothing. Look at the next best step. Take inspired action. Take massive imperfect action. Don’t be afraid of failing or not having things perfect because that will only hold you back and create more resistance from you getting to the finish line.
When you are thinking about what you want, be sure to create emotional energy around it and spend time feeling what it will be like to have it. If the feeling is peace, try to do something everyday that will allow you to feel peaceful. Whatever feelings are associated with what you want, incorporate ways into your life that you can feel them NOW. By doing this, you are sending a sign to the universe about what you want to feel. The universe will then reward you by sending you more things that allow you to feel how you want to feel. This is a basic law of attraction principal at work.
Step into BEING that version of the person you will be when you have reached your goal.
You have to believe and have faith that you can reach your goal. With worry, doubt and fear comes resistance to your belief in achieving it. If you find yourself doubting your abilities or even believing you can get what you want, you need to address it by removing this resistance.
In order to remove resistance, you first must identify what is getting in the way.

After you have removed resistance, it’s a good idea to create a series of affirmations or mantras about what you want.
Now that you know all of the specifics of what you want, and you know what you are going to FEEL and are focusing on those feelings, thinking about your goal often, and released all resistance, you are on your way to achieving your goal.
Lastly, be open to how your goal shows up because quite often it is delivered to us in ways off our radar. Pay attention to signs along your journey because they often surprise us.
